Urban Buzz

At work every month we have a newsletter called the Urban Buzz which goes round all the stores and introduces the staff and the city to the the rest of the company. As we are the newest store we felt we had something to prove to the rest of them, and went out of our way to do something different. I was given the task of creating the cover and foot note illustrations. Not bad for one days work?

Typography

I just came across this old project I did while in Saint Etienne, we had to design a font that was unique to the town. I started looking at street maps (mainly because I always had one with me), I was able to find shapes in the roads and junctions that looked very similar to letters.

Adobe Design Achievement Awards

Yesterday was a good day, after selling a couple of pieces to the Rendez Vous Gallery I received an email for the Adobe Design Awards telling me my renewable energy posters had made it to the semi-finals, if they win I get to go to Beijing! So I posted off the hard copies today, and now I must wait.

Back from New Blood.

I have just returned from London where I have been showing my work at New Blood along with another 2000 graduates, it was immense! Spoke to a few people about my work and quite a few business cards went, AND a piece ended up on the Creative Review which was a huge surprise, to see it CLICK HERE.

VIVA las vegas?

Today our external examiner was back to give some of us VIVAs, don't know what it stands for and don't really know what it was for. One theory was that our grades were undecided and this little chat would help him decide, another idea was just to asses the course. It went ok, so we'll just have to wait and see.
